Skill Force delivers a proven Complimentary Curriculum programme to young people across the country, initiating interest and inspiring achievement. Our programmes draw together vocational qualifications, community work and life skills in a classroom and outdoor activities based framework.
Students who complete the two year course successfully will attain CoPE (certificate of personal effectiveness), ASDAN Silver, (a vocational qualification recognised by employers), Duke of Edinburgh Bronze, St Andrews Emergency First Aid Certificate, Heartstart, a short first aid course covering CPR, complete a two day navigation and survival weekend, complete a four day residential and have an opportunity to undertake a Sport Leadership Award.
The Programme allows the students to have an input into the course during the latter stages.

Volunteering – Students will take part in the Sport Leadership Award resulting in them running a sport session for fellow pupils.
Physical Recreation – Undertake Programme to improve existing or recently started sporting or leisure activity.
Expedition – Must attain skills required to complete two day navigation exercise and final unassisted expedition.
Skills – Must show evidence of developing a skill over six months, we take students through a Life Skills course as part of the ASDAN curriculum.
St Andrews First Aid
Must complete training and internal assessment covering all aspects of Emergency First Aid.
Sport Leadership Award
Students will complete a 30hr Sports Leader course, giving them the opportunity to enhance their leadership and teamwork skills by taking part in the course learning how to run short sporting sessions.
The course has been developed around the needs and expectations of employers. As such it covers the widest possible range of careers. Pupils will visit the local college as well as the Job Centre and will complete modules on preparation for work, covering CV’s, filling out job applications and speaking to Career Scotland.
There is a minimal amount of homework which will increase slightly in the S4 year.
