Pupil Voice
There are a variety of ways of incorporating pupil voice within a school. Lossiemouth High School has a Student Representative Council; a Lead Prefect Team; a House system; Peer Supporters; etc and hopefully an open door environment that allows pupils to voice their ideas.
A sample is represented below:
Student Representative Council (SRC)
WHAT IS IT? It is a committee run by pupils, attended by pupils and they only discuss issues brought up by pupils. It is your chance to have your say!
WHO IS IN IT? The committee has an elected chairperson. They organise and manage the meetings. A teacher is also there. The teacher takes the minutes and puts forward any information or views/ideas mentioned by the staff.
WHAT SORT OF THINGS DO WE TALK ABOUT? Anything that you want to talk about. The committee is your opportunity to put forward your ideas and opinions. It is a chance for the voice of the pupils to be heard. It can be anything from safety on the buses to the organisation of school events.
